    Will this sub/amp combo work?

So I currently have a polk dxi 124 (dual 4 ohm). It is 360w RMS. Would using an amp that is 500w RMS @ 2 ohm overpower it?

    Power Question

Okay thanks. Each sub is single 4 ohm with 400w RMS and the amp I am looking is rated at 1000w RMS @ 2 ohm so it should be good then right?

    Will this work?

I am considering connecting 2 Pioneer subs to a kenwood amp. The RMS of the two subs combined is 800W and the RMS of the amp is 1000W. However, the peak of the two subs combined is 2800W and the peak of the amp is only 2000W. Will this work or do I need a more powerful amp?

    What could be causing this?

Could it be that I just need to do the Big 3 upgrade? I'm thinking that unless the amp or sub is actually damaged/bad, that maybe the amp isn't getting enough power from the car (blue LED flickers on amp remote but there is no headlight dim).

    What could be causing this?

So I took the sub out and it doesn't appear to be blown. There's no sound when pushed in and it does not smell burnt.

    What could be causing this?

Is this what clipping sounds like? I haven't really been able to find any other examples of what's happening to mine.

    What could be causing this?

Thanks. I was thinking it may be a power issue though since it is the second sub to have this issue with this amp

The Subwoofer is a polk dxi 124 dvc connected to an RE audio 2000.1 amp in a 1991 Honda Civic LX model. The amp's rms at 4 ohm is stated to be 410W and the subs rms is stated to be 360W (180 per coil). The gain on the amp is set to about 1/3 and the bass level on the amp is set to about 3db...

    Should I Install a Capacitor?

I've got a Polk dxi 124 connected to an RE 2000.1 amp in my 1991 Honda Civic. When I play music at louder volumes, the light on the remote dims a lot and the sub seems to lose its power. I haven't really noticed any headlight dim when driving. I was wondering if this is an issue that could be...

    How to fix this issue?

Okay. It may have been a ground issue since I noticed that when it was installed, they did not sand down the paint. After doing so, that weird distortion only happened at volumes higher than I would listen to in the car (and with the car off), so as of right now, I believe it is fixed. The...

    How to fix this issue?

On my amp its like a bass level. If I set it all the way down to 0, very little actually plays.
