Looking for a decent amp, something in the price range of $100-$400 range. It wont be permanent and will be upgraded eventually. Still pretty new with car audio and if anyone can point me in the right direction with the right gauge wire/brand of wire to use would help a lot!

Like @maylar said, delay the turn on to the amplifier only. 3 to 5 seconds should take care of it.

Google and Ebay are your friends. Froma quick search and providing these are like new, $2- $400 for the subs and $2- $400 for the amplifiers...

I would try a pair of Bass Blockers on the rear speakers. I always place them on Coax. speakers generally, Should help quite a bit I like PAC ones...
